Thank you all for your input, whether it rolled right out of your mind or you spent time in consideration.
Here’s what’s going on from our Inside-MacZOT perspective.
1. We’re doing things that we haven’t done before (and often times others haven’t either – though they might soon.)
2. As the popularity of MacZOT increases, the current systems are being stretched like the industrial spandex used in some of those yo-mama jokes mentioned previously.
We’re working on this and are pleased to announce – although informally here in the blog – that each day we’re making the site better for you.
3. We’re 100% accountable no matter what. That means, if you purchase something from MacZOT, we’ll provide the serial and you can feel confident of that.
What’s nice is that most of the items are shareware, so you can begin using them as soon as you get the download link (which on the mystery items might be another day.)
There is so much great feedback. If I can do anything, I’ll make a commitment today to provide a state of the ZOT so you can feel confident you’re being heard.
We’ll put those in the ZOT! category of blog posts.
Direct feedback or comments are happily received there as well as anywhere.
We’ll say this: MacZOT would be nothing without you – the loyal Mac enthusiast.
Send comments; send suggestions; exchange contact info and go see a movie. I personally am looking forward to the new Scorsese film coming out tomorrow.
Cheers
ZOT!

I like to read these things.
I pretty much hold what you wrote to be true.
I have to be honest, what sold me on MacZot was thumbing through the archives. When I saw that a quarter of the applications that I own were offered once on MacZot at a reasonable price, I realized that it might be a great place to visit.
Your offering titles that I want at a price I am willing to pay.
By the way, who the are you people? It would be nice to know alittle more about the forces behind MacZot.

Also Netflix freak would be awesome ;-)

I think ZotGeist members should have the opportunity to choose an app from the archives if you can swing it with the developers…I know there are a few I would like to have another go at.

Yes very good idea, I’d like too.

As me :D

agreed about the archives being open in some way… maybe a SideZOT (like Woot does side deals) for those of us that are newer who want a crack at an old ZOT once in a while. That way you don’t get complaints of a recycle, if there is a new app on the table for the main ZOT.
Oh my, that sounds like it would be complex to handle now that I re-read. But, I’d still love to see it :)

Some suggestions for the main page where the daily apps are presented. It woul be nice if they would include:
- a link to the developers website
- a link to MacUpdate’ product page
At the moment, if you want more info about an app, you first have to go to macupdate and search it there before you can go to the developers website
October 10th, 2006 at 4:10 pm
Considering MacUpdate is the competition, I doubt they’ll be linked to anytime soon.
October 11th, 2006 at 12:11 am
Okay, but what about a link to the products page, only?
October 11th, 2006 at 12:14 am
About the free zots like VLC:
Wouldn’t be the next logical step a “donate”-button where you can support the developers? I mean macZot even talks about supporting them in the product presentation, so this could lead some readers to give a dollar or two…

OK what happened to the advance notice of ZOTs? I’ve logged in often to check the Zotgeist section of my accounts and zip…
You need to provide a private, password protected RSS feed (I think that’s feasible?) or continue updating us by email. Having to log in and check for any updates is cumbersome and annoying, doubly so when there is nothing new there…

Hey ZOT, Why did you take down Pandora soo quickly?

ZOTbucks seem a good idea… But I need more info. Where can I find how many I have and how can I earn them?
