@Brian – this is just too much! Here I am, only a few days from Xmas, credit cards maxed out, and here you go giving us a HUGE gaming bundle that is almost impossible to refuse! Darn you!
:D
Thanks Brian for all the work you do conniving devs to give us a deal!
December 22nd, 2006 at 12:07 am
@Brian – PS Check out your links … MacGameFiles doesn’t like directly linking to their DMGs. :(
December 22nd, 2006 at 1:07 am
My oh my… this is a great bundle indeed… hard to resist…
@Brian, please do a link to each game’s information/developer page as well…
December 22nd, 2006 at 1:12 am
Dammit, if I had known Enigmo 2 would show up in this bundle I would have got Nanosaur 2 during MacHeist instead!
All the other games look cool, but already since I already own one, I am slightly hesitant… I’m not sure if the others make up for it enough… dang.
That clay one looks rad tho! I’m gonna have to think on this one.
December 22nd, 2006 at 1:23 am
Platypus = very cool. Honestly, if you like any of the other ones, it’s worth it just to get this game too. Fantastic game if you like hard scrolling shmups. And by “hard” I really mean “most difficult shmup I’ve played, but still beatable, and a joy to see, hear, and play”. Worth every penny I paid for it.
December 22nd, 2006 at 1:37 am
Off topic… but the other day in the discussion on Socialist, it was quoted:
“ZOT said,
December 20, 2006 @ 12:09 am
BONUS: If you’re one to frequent this discussion area, we’ll be choosing up to 10 winners to receive this app throughout the day.”
Excuse me if I missed it, but I can’t find it anywhere on the site on who the winners were. Just curious. I’m sure they were already informed, but for the rest of us, it would be nice to know that someone did win, and that it wasn’t just false propaganda.
December 22nd, 2006 at 2:04 am
Awesome – I bought the macheist bundle and got nanosaur (i picked random)
I was kinda regretting it – I’m loving Pangea arcade (though enigmo 2 and nanosaur are great too) till now. I get both of the Pangea titles – plus all these other games – which – aside from mah-jong (I hate mah-jong) look great!
December 22nd, 2006 at 2:44 am
Got Platypus, Enigmo 2, and Mahjong Quest already… otherwise I’d go for this bundle. Great deal, amazing games.
December 22nd, 2006 at 2:47 am
Nice games, but the only game that could make me think about buying a bundle like this would be „Atlantis Sky Patrol“
December 22nd, 2006 at 4:34 am
Okay, I just picked this up as well, and had chosen Enigmo2 in the Macheist bundle. So can I donate the extra license? Or swap it for something? Pretty please?
December 22nd, 2006 at 5:15 am
Awesome bundle. I wish MacZot would get better about adding links to the developer’s sites.
December 22nd, 2006 at 5:25 am
I just got Arcade too in Macheist, wish one of their others was available, but a great set of games all together!
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:00 am
This is definitely an intriguing bundle, and my wife will probably kill me if I buy one more thing this Christmas after all she is buying me a 15″ mid-level Macbook Pro
By the way 6 out of the 10 are Universal Apps broken down as follows. You can get a bead on these and many other games at http://www.apple.com/games/demos/ or http://www.macgamefiles.com
Many of these are Universal apps:
Pangea Arcade
Enigmo 2
Teddy Factory
Platypus
Deep Trouble 2
Pop-a-Tronic
PPC only (on Intel with Rosetta):
Jewel Quest
Brain Boosters
Five Card Deluxe
Mah Jong Quest
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:08 am
Is it possible to GiftZOT this bundle? Or can it only be registered to the purchaser?
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:46 am
You appear to only be able to gift the ENTIRE bundle, not individual games. It is a shame, really.
Also macgamestore.com is offering the same bundle for the same price. If you have any coupons or discounts there, you can actually get it cheaper than here.
Something to keep in mind.
December 22nd, 2006 at 9:00 am
tough one, i already have the arcade & Platypus. trying to figure out whether i’d play the other games too. darn, if i had only not selected the arcade through macheist, i would have very likely bought this bundle already.
December 22nd, 2006 at 9:51 am
I want to get an answer from the powers that be here…..if we can split this bundle up, I would jump on it. But, I already own 3 of these games. Is it worth it to get the others even if I can’t gift the dupes? What to do, what to do?
Hey Zot! Need some answers here about this.
December 22nd, 2006 at 12:15 pm
zot, is this only going to be available today or will it extend into the weekend?
December 22nd, 2006 at 12:22 pm
Platypus, Teddy Factory, and Pop-A-Tronic are reported as PPC only by Xslimmer and System Profiler, those review sites need to correct themselves
Corrected List
PPC only (on Intel with Rosetta):
Jewel Quest
Brain Boosters
Five Card Deluxe
Mah Jong Quest
Pop-A-Troinc
Platypus
Teddy Factory
Universal
Pangea Arcade
Enigmo 2
Deep Trouble 2
So most are PPC
December 22nd, 2006 at 7:29 pm
@Jimmy: Actually, it’s through 25th December.
December 22nd, 2006 at 8:36 pm
So should I expect to get real d/l links along with the licenses?
December 22nd, 2006 at 10:15 pm
yes, you should. Some only need a registration code and can be turned into the full version by entering the code. Other games may require a special version. If so, you will be sent the link to download it. MGS works like this for digital downloads.
December 22nd, 2006 at 11:35 pm
I’ve said it before, along with others, but you guys make it nearly impossible for me to get truly excited about long lists like this since you don’t provide links to the developer’s site. I have to copy/paste the link, then strip the download file info, hoping that takes me to the right place. Or I have to goggle the name of the app, again, hoping that I find it quickly.
Seriously, this is a non-issue from a time and technology standpoint. It’s driving me batty and making me lose serious interest in the whole MacZot concept. What’s the hang up with provide a “more info” link that points to the developer’s site? Do you have some 1998 ecommerce mindset that makes you believe that off-site linking will result in a lack of sales?
December 23rd, 2006 at 3:15 am
Thanks, Aric. This is the first time I’m trying this out, and I’ve not had the time to look around on the website to find out how exactly Maczot etc work.
December 23rd, 2006 at 4:53 am
@Sanjay: Hehehe.. I know you from the MAAD blog. So you found macZOT!, eh? Well, you’ll be hooked now. =) Have you also seen mupromo and macsanta?
December 23rd, 2006 at 5:46 am
hi justG: yup, came here via MAAD. Also found MacSanta thanks to the Gruber noisefest over MacHeist (which I grabbed as well, of course). Who says there’s any thing called bad publicity.
What’s mupromo? Or does my credit card not want to know?
December 23rd, 2006 at 8:54 am
>What’s mupromo?
MacUpdate.com Promotion. Similar to MacZot in that it offers reduced price software for a single day. So far my credit card has been able to stay away from there and get drained here instead. :)

December 23rd, 2006 at 1:28 pm
Picked this up for my wife for Christmas. Can’t waiting to get the serials :)
December 23rd, 2006 at 7:56 pm
Is anyone else having problems running the demo versions of Platypus and Five Card Deluxe? With Platypus, I select to run the trial and then a few seconds later I’m given a “you have 60 minutes left.” box with two buttons, buy now or quit. I can never get to the game itself. Similarly with Five Card Deluxe, it opens and almost as soon as the game’s main menu appears it crashes and I get OSX’s “Do you want to reopen this app?” message box. I have a G5 Powermac with OSX 10.4.8, BTW.
Even if I end up never being able to run those two games, the rest of them will still be worth the $25 I spent on the bundle. :)
December 23rd, 2006 at 8:11 pm
Re: Giftin to multiple people:
With the number of people buying this bundle, we don’t want to make it overly complicated by trying to let me people gift a single game out of 10.
Short answer, get them a whole bundle!.
To gift this, it’s easy, just login to your account and change the name email for that single order. You’ll see a gift box that will help you identify that link.
Enjoy this bundle, spend time with your families, and happy holidays!
ZOT!
December 23rd, 2006 at 10:24 pm
@Mike H: I had trouble with Platypus as well, but of a different kind. My display totally freaked out when I tried to run it (Intel Mac, 10.4.8, 1600×1200 resolution). It was like it simultaneously changed my res to 640×480 and zoomed in so that I only saw the middle bit of open windows. I exited the application and didn’t try running it again. Hopefully there will be a UB update to it; until then, I’m okay with the other games. I didn’t try the card game, so can’t speak to that.
December 24th, 2006 at 9:58 am
@justG & @MikeH: I downloaded and ran the demo for Platypus on my MacBook and had no issues. FYI, FWIW.
December 24th, 2006 at 9:52 pm
Thanks for the info, Rees. Perhaps it just conflicted with something I had running at the time (like VirtueDesktops, for example). I’ll reboot, run a clean slate, and give it another go at some point. =)
December 24th, 2006 at 11:20 pm
So, I guess there’s no super-secret Christmas deal for midnight?
Awww :D
December 25th, 2006 at 10:05 am
I got my licenses and links to the downloads. No luck. Firefox just sits there, spinning its wheels.
It’s late here, so I’ll try again tomorrow. :/
December 25th, 2006 at 4:52 pm
try using Safari to download. for Firefox, it’ll be good to get a 3rd party download manager such as Speeddownload. Firefox doesn’t handle certain files well enough yet.
December 25th, 2006 at 6:19 pm
Where do you put your serial for Deep Trouble?
December 25th, 2006 at 7:11 pm
FF started its first download. No problems so far. Maybe the server was out of sorts last night.
December 25th, 2006 at 10:06 pm
@Cheerful: Really? I’ve had more download issues with Safari than Firefox.
In any case, download issues are rare. It was probably something server-side or their ISP acting up.
December 26th, 2006 at 12:10 am
@Kar-ma: When you first launch DeepTrouble, you get an options pane for video settings. After you configure it and hit OK, another pane should pop up that tells you you’re not registered and lets you enter a serial number. I’m not sure if the demo I initially downloaded did this, but I re-downloaded by clicking the link in the e-mail from macgamestore. IIRC the link from the e-mail downloads a file that is much larger than the demo, a little over 100MB. I don’t recall the demo being that large, but I’ve downloaded and deleted so much over the past few days that I couldn’t be sure. Hope that helps.
January 2nd, 2007 at 8:08 am
hey i bought the bundle, paid via paypal and no news of it since the 22/12
is there a trouble ?
January 3rd, 2007 at 5:36 am
Fred, I bought the bundle on 25/12 and received my confirmation e-mail the same day. Did you check to make sure that it wasn’t caught by any spam filters? The e-mail I got was from “No Reply” and was titled “Mac Games Holiday Bundle Digital Download Details.” Hope that helps.
January 5th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Brian, thanks for screwing developers to get us this software – your questionable ethics have made getting Mac software a breeze.

Summer is over and I am putting together my to-do list for Alexa, trying to figure out what we are going to be working on for the next year. But before I break out my pencil, I thought I’d ask you first.
