Theme Based Design
RapidWeaver comes with over 20 professionally designed themes as standard, but this is just the start. The latest version of RapidWeaver has a revolutionary new feature called "Theme Variations" allowing you to mix and match styles to create the perfect site. For example, the "Blog" theme alone has over 100 different combinations.

If none of the built-in themes suit your latest project, then there are literally hundreds of extra themes available from 3rd party companies. Visit the Resources page for a comprehensive list of plugins, themes, tutorials, and other 3rd party resources.

Powerful enough for Professionals
While RapidWeaver appears simple, it has many powerful features that will appeal to professionals and high end users. These include modifiable themes, live php rendering, smart publishing, XHTML and CSS based site output, viewable source code and built-in error checking.

Too bad I already have this one. Beats iWeb hands down! Very nice, professional looking web pages. There are dozens of templates that you can buy for it as well.

2. dantini Says:

RapidWeaver is my #1 favorite Mac shareware! Worth the full price, a real bargain at this MacZOT! deal! I already have #3# licenses for it!!! Visit the Realmacsoftware forums for advice on customizing themes to get even more mileage out of this app…

Also, be sure you check out the great plug-ins for RapidWeaver from YourHead software, they add a lot to it. I am pretty sure their website is http://www.yourhead.com.

If you don’t have RW and need to make websites, get it!

3. gryphonent Says:

Great app… already own it!

4. Eddie Says:

I wonder if many people will buy it since it was quite recently part of the MacHeist bundle for $50. Even less for people who had participated in the heists. And the bundle included 10 apps.
May be worth it for those looking for this particular program and/or missed the bundle.

5. MarkG Says:

I am another one who got this from MacHeist. I almost didn’t bother, owning Dreamweaver. I finally decided to give it whirl and it is FAB! Coupled with a few third party themes and Plugins from YourHead (Blocks and Accordion should be system requirements!) it is so easy to make professional looking sites.

You don’t need htnl knowledge, but a little can make it even more customisable. So get it, and use it alongside yesterday’s Zot!

This is more like it Zot!!!!

6. Jan Says:

Like everyone else I own it too. Good offer for those who don’t have it yet though.

7. jailerjoe Says:

If you don’t own it and want to build great/professional looking web sites, get it. It’s very, very good software.

8. Daniel Says:

Very much worth the price (especially the MacZOT! price). Create professional-looking websites in a few minutes, complete with blog, photo slideshow, etc.

9. Jim Harris Says:

I love and own RapidWeaver. If you purchase, you HAVE to check out http://www.yourhead.com and get some of their plug-ins. Accordion, Blocks, Carousel, Collage, and Columns are all very useful and inexpensive. I would not normally do this, but you can visit my website to see RapidWeaver in use, along with the Structure theme, and the Accordion plugin. Please note that 2 of the pages are still under construction.

I paid full price for RapidWeaver, and it’s still worth it, so if you don’t have, GET IT!

10. edmb Says:

Now, if you could please, please, please have a yourhead bundle Zot tomorrow. Did I say please?

11. stainboy Says:

@Jim: dude, there’s like, 20 linked stylesheets for your first page. and tons of inline CSS. crazy. page looks nice though.

i use BBEdit for all my web design–never cared for a WYSIWYG editor–but i’ve heard great things about Rapidweaver. glad to see it on macZOT!

12. S. Hotelling Says:

This is a great application that I recommend to everyone, and it’s so easy to use.

Thanks for the discount macZOT.

Enjoy! :)

13. lonniehb Says:

Zotgeist? Man what happened to the club.

14. Loyd Says:

This works out good.. last night I was trying to pry the $40 out of my wallet to buy this.

15. Peter Says:

Another “already own it” entry here… definitely recommended, as well as the Yourhead addons and themes from the RW developers.

16. TommyW Says:

It’s excellent. If you’ve even half a mind to put up a site, this will bring you much further along than iWeb.

Yourhead has a bunch of plugins that are essential. Columns, Blocks and Accordion all elevate this product.

Many fine templates from Blueball and others, all of which are customisable to some extent.

There’s some great videocast tutorials at http://screencastsonline.com/sco/ which will sell this software better than anything…. Just search on it for Rapidweaver.

17. Richard Peterson Says:

I own this and love it, easily one of the best third party apps ever made for OS X. Plus, the ever-growing list of plug-ins, themes, and theme modifiers make it infinitely useful to creative and pro users. The community-forums at RealMacSoftware is also one of the friendliest, most helpful places on the internet where lots of people hang out just to be there.
RapidWeaver is already very reasonable, at this price it’s a steal.

Your wish is my command.

Double Your Zot

YourHead discovered RapidWeaver when it was Zotted long ago. So we have a special place in our hearts for Zot.

So, while RapidWeaver is Zotting, we’ll match the Zot! Get the same 30% when you buy the YourHead DOUBLEZOT bundle.

Zotfolks,

If it’s uncool to post this here, just let me know. There were just a bunch of people posting about it that I couldn’t help myself.

Thanks,
Isaiah

19. harringg Says:

Since I own two copies of RW (full purchase and MacHeist), glad I read the forums today. I’ve been looking at getting these plug-ins and now have them. :)

Thanks to Isaiah

20. dantini Says:

Isaiah — I place YourHead on a pedestal exactly as high as the one I put RealMac Software on! In other words, your RW plug-ins add as much to RW as RW offers in the first place…

Every time you come up with a new one, I think that’s it, there’s nothing else you could make, so I’m always looking forward to see what’s up your sleeve next!

21. Jim Says:

Well, hell, I’d like to have some time to try these plugins out before deciding on possibly purchasing them at this discount. Ah well, maybe another time.

22. harringg Says:

@Jim

I’ve been using RW for a few months and as great as it is, it suffers layout issues. Blocks fills those voids by leaps and bounds. If you are using RW, at least buy Blocks from YourHead.

23. dantini Says:

I’ll second that harringg. If you can only get one YourHead plug-in, Blocks is it.

Since RW is being offered for a second day (and if any app should get a second day on MacZOT!, it’s this one!) maybe the YourHead deal will be extended as well!

24. Thorsten von Plotho-Kettner Says:

As an earlier admin of rapidweaver´s support-forum, I really give my voice for that piece of code, get it if you do not own it by now! :)

25. Big-G Says:

Isaiah, THANKS! I, too, got RapidWeaver in the MacHeist bundle. I’ve been looking at your plug-ins ever since, but hadn’t gotten around to buying them yet. Your generous DOUBLEZOT discount was just the impetus I needed… I just bought the full bundle. I almost missed this… I didn’t check the messages yesterday afternoon. Glad the discount was continued today.

Thanks again Isaiah!

26. Tronstr Says:

That extra for Yourhead is very cool, I went a bought the bundle last night and then read about the extra discount. I guess I missed out……Still enjoy the software though, can’t say enough good things about either.

27. Scott Says:

Sold Out? How can a digital product be “sold out”? Ridiculous.

28. Beavis Says:

Don’t buy from MacZot anyway, here is why: http://maniacalrage.net/past/2007/1/4/you_might_remember_a_post/

29. Frank Says:

Thanks for the reminder Bravis.

30. Frank Says:

…I mean Beavis. Again thanks for the reminder.

31. Erichd Says:

It’s my guess that Beavis really meant to say Butthead….

Scroll back up and read Isaiah’s post, then understand that actual business people and devs do appreciate MacZot’s efforts.

GREAT ZOT! Rapid Weaver is AWESOME.

32. Eddie Says:

Not really Erichd.
You can’t generalize anything based on Isaiah’s post, which is a very kind gesture but actually circumvents MacZot, as users can go directly to his website and make the purchase.
Sure, there will be some developers and business people who appreciate MacZot.
At the same time there will be other developers and business people, as well as Mac users and supporters of shareware developers, who don’t appreciate MacZot.
And others could care less about principles as long as they can save a buck or two…

33. Erichd Says:

Eddie,

This is the phrase in Isaiah’s cooment that I was referring to:

“YourHead discovered RapidWeaver when it was Zotted long ago. So we have a special place in our hearts for Zot.”

In other words, without MZ, the YourHead plug-ins might not exist.

MZ is a MARKETING organization. A bunch of us wouldn’t know about any of these small devs without MZ. That’s the business person and consumer’s angle, and why we shouldn’t hesitate to support MZ.

For people who know these devs already, go on ahead and buy direct at full price. Unless you don’t feel the full price is the market price you’d go for, in which case do MZ or MUPromo or MacSanta or whatever else comes along.

I hope that clarifies the “generalization” a bit.

34. Frank Says:

Thanks Eddie I couldn’t have said it better:

“And others could care less about principles as long as they can save a buck or two…”

My choice is principles…

35. Eddie Says:

Thanks for clarifying Erichd.
But the keywords in that phrase may be “long ago” :D

I did like MacZot, and did save money on a couple of programs that I use regularly. I also spent a lot of money on Zot ‘surprises’ that I don’t use. I’m all in favor of supporting developers, but usually developers respond by providing timely software that works as expected. Other times things are just a ‘mystery’ :D

Not buying through Zot does not mean paying full price, though. Often developers have their own discounts and bundles. I saved 66% with the Reaction Bundle back in the OS 9 days :)
Default Folder, AliasMenu, and BeHierarchic
Great developers, superb support, and excellent price. More recently I have gotten software that has been zotted and the zot price, even though it was attractive, was more than what I paid.

OTOH, paying full price supports the developers. I’m actually about to donate for a program. At first I was interested in a program that has been zotted in the past and may be zotted again, but now I chose an alternative that is donationware instead of going the Zot route.

But that’s just me…

And Frank :)

I do admit that if they offer Tinderbox for less than $100 I’ll give it serious consideration. I’m not a saint :D
