wow, I guess there’s a strong 12-year-old female demographic here? :-)
Next up, Taxes By Hello Kitty!

To Peter: well, I’m a 42 year old male and I think that Kitty Spangles Solitaire is great! It has excellent graphics and sound, and a clean interface. The only problem is that it’s somewhat addictive. And yes, I like being greeted by Kitty upon winning!

I am not sure about the target market for this product with all of the silly “kitty” stuff but this game is outstanding! Stable and beautiful and you can also resize the screen to fit your liking with the graphics resizing seemlessly. Best Solitaire on the Mac I’ve seen.

I’ve been playing Kitty since she first showed up, and never considered it targeted solely at the My Little Pony market of 12 year old girls (and maybe some of the more confused guys in the world).
Kitty is a polished solitaire title with more games and variants than you can poke a stick at, gives me a diversion from work (like I needed another one), looks right at home on my Mac, and Ferdiham is a champion.

Well if you want a real full featured solitaire game not geared towards little girls try Solitaire Forever it has over a hundred games a great 3D environment and resizes to whatever position you like while maintaining graphics. If I had a daughter I’d be all over this Zot but I don’t, so I use a big boys solitaire game (Solitaire Forever).

Well, I just had to chip in here. I’m not a 12 year old girl and I think this Kitty Solitaire is excellent. The developer is quick to listen to ideas and suggestions. The graphics are fab. And the selection of games is comprehensive but not overwhelming. Bought it straight away!

I was being a bit more tongue-in-cheek but to give constructive criticism, it may be full-featured and not just for little girls – but I’d still suggest maybe a bit more of an adult touch available, maybe as a theme you could switch to or even a separate version.

Meee-yow ;) Queen on top, eh?
Does anyone know if this IS skinnable? That would make it quite a bit more popular/usable/sellable… Heck, I’d probably make some skins for it, because it certainly seems to be a _very_ good base program.
As for the kitty craze, blame Hello Kitty for it.

Hi all, thanks for your comments.
For the record, and as strange as it may seem, Kitty Spangles didn’t come about because of the juggernaut that is Hello Kitty. After finishing our last game we wanted cheering up. We like solitaire, moggies and good design, so we made a game we’d like to play.
As for girly games, rest assured all you manly men out there — adopters of Kitty are more or less evenly divided amongst men and women.
And if you’ve got a favorite solitaire that you’d like to see added in a future update, just let us know:

i totally agree! back then, i was thinking what a stupid game solitaire was … but i was addicted to this “stupid” game in 2006 Oct! was looking for some good ones on the mac (sadly, i was playing it on WM5) Kitty has so many various variations! totally cool! Keep it up!
p.s. i read the blog before you posted here. way nice! btw, you do sell “Kitty” very well! i do notice that most if not all the clothes are targeted at females though.
