This is a great app I use it every day, although I paid full price… It was worth every penny. I love the scheduling and slow downer features. Check my band out at http://www.dirtbagmusic.com/SwamPStomP

I’m very interested in this app, but seeing as the version number is 2.9.9.5 – what will the upgrade policy/price to 3.0 be. Maybe I should just wait for 3.0.

Will the license work for both the Mac and Windows versions? If so I’m a taker. (Please chime in if you know.) Thanks.

Can someone with experience using both compare this package’s “Song Slow-Downer” with the program “Amazing Slow Downer X”? I’d love to pick this up if the feature sets and quality are comparable.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of your interest in this Zot, we’re the developer of Guitar Shed (Astoundit Software) and just wanted to answer a few of the questions above. For those that have ordered – thank you, we’ll be sending out the serial numbers within the next few hours.
1) For those concerned, we do have version 3.0 in development, but no release date has been set. We are still in the active development phase, and have not even begun testing – so it should be a good 5+ months (at the soonest) before it is released. While I can’t mention *too* many specifics, the retail price of Guitar Shed 3 will also be raised somewhat; but there will be a hefty upgrade discount offered to all registered Guitar Shed 2.x users – including all MacZot buyers.
2) Yep, the serial numbers work with both the Macintosh and Windows versions of Guitar Shed. Although, the Windows version is slightly behind the Mac version in features (namely the Chromatic Tuner) – we love Macs :)
3) We think the Song Slow-Downer feature in Guitar Shed is pretty great. It uses many highly optimized algorithms to keep the pitch of the song exactly the same, while slowing the playback speed at up to 98% (And anywhere in-between). This includes playback support for Audio CDs (directly from your CD/DVD-ROM drive, no conversion needed), MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, and many others – All in *real-time* without needing to render or save them first. It will even grab the audio track from a QuickTime movie; and now also supports protected songs that you’ve purchased from the iTunes Music Store.
You can listen to a quick audio demo on our site that shows how this works at:
http://www.astoundit.com/products/guitarshed/featuresummary/songslowdowner/index.html
For this demo, we purposely chose a mishmash of music genres so that you can get a feel for how the Guitar Shed
song slow-downer works with a variety of music styles. Most of the sample guitar riffs use fairly fast and complex fingerings, with loud background instruments to mimic challenging real-world situations that you may need to use it in. When slowing down these arrangements, Guitar Shed clearly plays back pitch-correct audio, slowed down to whatever speed you need.
Thanks again for your interest in Guitar Shed!

ZOTted in no time! What a perfect app, instead of sitting in front of iTunes pausing and rewinding I can now set up loops and slow things down if need be, etc. Chromatic tuner is nice, especially since it can be customized – I frequently use a tuning that’s not one of the 35 presets.
Awesome.
