myBlogEdit is an easy-to-use weblog editor focusing on the most important functions for bloggers, with easy to use features and a clean user interface. myBlogEdit is ‘Featured Download’ at apple.com. Why should you hinder yourself by using the slow and hard-to-use webinterface WordPress comes with, if you could do it with the style and comfort of a real Mac application. myBlogEdit gives you the freedom to work on your articles offline – whenever and wherever you want. With myBlogEdit it’s so easy to integrate pictures, without using a special application or thinking about the correct HTML code. You can customize myBlogEdit to fit your needs and preferences perfectly. myBlogEdit supports all major weblog engines like WordPress, TypePad, MovableType, ExpressionEngine and others… myBlogEdit supports multiple accounts, has an integrated fast media/file manger with file preview and one of the best features is the smooth resizing, formatting and uploading of images with just one single click – so in most cases there is no need for Photoshop or Pixelmator – just choose the image, select size, style – upload it and you’re done… myBlogEdit also supports advanced features like the automatic generation of excerpts or ‘custom fields’ in WordPress, has an integrated full featured HTML editor with gorgeous syntax-coloring and spellcheck, search/replace, HTML tag templates and keyboard shortcuts and a lot more nifty features…

I love the apps from MOApp. Just so clean and simple to use. I don´t blog, but I hope that mytexts will be on promotion soon.
Keep up the good work!

MOApp makes indeed fine apps with a focus on clean interface design and ease of use. I used ecto for a very long time, but they don’t seem to do any major updates since the latest aquisition. If you can’t get used to MarsEdit, than you definitely should try myBlogEdit. All major blog engines are supported and there are a lot of handy features like the integrated image functionality. You don’t have to open another application anymore to make basic adjustments.
The less the interface gets in your way, the less is the barrier to write a new blog post. This seems to be the idea behind myBlogEdit and beware, because this software makes you a blogging addict ;-)

Thanks for your feedback :-))
One word to system requirements:
myBlogEdit runs with Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard!
For some reasons the description here only shows 10.6 :-(

I’m trying this out, but it’s not clear to me how to create the info for a Blogger blog. Is it “other meta-blog compatible”? Something else? I always get the message “XMLRPC services have to be enabled.” I have no idea at all what that means or what to do. The help manual doesn’t seem to be easily searchable.
This may be a very good program once you can get things set up, but the setting up seems tricky. And I’ve used ecto (no likey so much) and MarsEdit (likey very very much).

Sorry – no support for Blogger – all Blogger user I know really don’t use source code editors for blogging – you are the first ever asked, the first I know :-)
Yes – for all people not using/editing with source code and with a need for WYSIWY(never)G is MarsEdit the first choice, but – sorry Daniel :-) – working with source code does not make fun at all with MarsEdit (for me, thats why I wrote this little app)

Hi Michael – it’s nice to see another blog editor in active development!
For what it’s worth lots of Blogger users do use desktop editors to edit their blogs. I collect statistics (with users’ permission) from within MarsEdit, and Blogger is the second most popular blog system among my users (after WordPress).

Hi Daniel,
the second most popular system?
Do your statistics tell something about the use of WYSIWG or source code?
:-))

Michael – actually MarsEdit doesn’t have a WYSIWYG mode yet, so it tells me that 100% of my users are editing raw HTML code :)

Oh stupid me – I really thought you also have a WYSIWG mode – I always used HTML with MarsEdit…
Thanks for the information :-)
