When you're shopping online…wouldn't you like to see a cool 3D object you can rotate?
Boxshot VR is a great tool for presenting your 3D artwork on the web. All you need is a sequence of images, showing your item from different angles. Boxshot VR helps you to put these images as a virtual 3d object on a website, where your visitors may rotate it using the mouse.
You can see the samples on Boxshot VR homepage. Best of all, no Flash is required, as the object you get is plain HTML5 code. This means it runs well even on iPad or iPhone!
Use real photos or not… It is not necessary to use real photos, you may use Boxshot Ultimate or any other 3D application to render the sequence for you.
Boxshot VR demo comes with a sample sequence, so you can give it a try first.
Image Sequence → 3D
Boxshot VR converts a row or grid of images to a pseudo-3d object that you can rotate with the mouse or finger. You may use real photos or rendered images, the result is always beautiful!
Easy and Intuitive
Zero web-programming skills is required – Boxshot VR takes care about everything. Load your images and get a ready for uploading HTML file. Amazing results with just a few mouse clicks!
HTML5 Compatible
Boxshot VR produces valid HTML5 code. Your virtual 3d objects will work in all the modern browsers, mobile phones and pads. No need to install Flash or QuickTime plugin, it just works!

this one looks rather interesting… had never come across it before so would be good to see how it performs… cheers

This is confusing. I understand from the developers website ONLY that this is just a subscription for ONE year!
further: To fully use it it seems necessary to buy the boxshot home-professional or ultimate software as well. Not so great. Or am I mistaking this?
March 19th, 2013 at 2:51 am
Yes, this is a subscription for a year.
No, you don’t need Boxshot Ultimate to use the software, you can shot the object yourself or render images in any other 3d app.

It wasn’t explicit that it was a one year subscription. A little disappointed by this solution. I don’t want to support this kind of business :(
I’m not sure to renew my subscription next year, I already seem flooded. :(
Shame on you Mac Zot to didn’t explain this kind of limitation :(
March 19th, 2013 at 8:04 am
I was so going to pull the trigger on this, but a software subscription? No thanks. :(

Subscription = dealbreaker.
One alternative is Object2VR (http://gardengnomesoftware.com/object2vr.php), which does a nice job (albeit pricier).
March 19th, 2013 at 10:42 am
It sure looks interesting. Oh, a subscription?
No. thanks. I don’t do subscriptions.
March 19th, 2013 at 11:04 am
Damn, I’m glad I read these comments before buying!
I was ready to go on this but a subscription for their low-end product? Maybe if this was a year subscription for Boxtop 4 or Boxtop 3D—where the options are far greater—it would be more enticing to try out for a year.

Thanks for the info about Object2VR. It’s expensive, but I prefer to have this solution without limitation.

RE: Subscription –
I agree. Shame on me for not making this clear. I forgot it was a subscription during the process of setting things up.
If you bought without knowing and want a refund, please write us at support@macZOT.com.
Thanks for all the comments.

OK, guys. Looks like nobody loves subscriptions, so let’s make a crazy thing. The promo has just been switched to the unlimited version of Boxshot VR!
The version you buy will work forever, not just a year. Please note that free updates period is still limited, though.
Those, who purchased the limited version, please contact the support to get this fixed.
Cheers!

Noticed that the developer “appsforlife” has commented in this section that this is a subscription for a year. The title of the offer specifically states “Unlimited (non-subscription) Version!” So, MacZOT, which is it If this is indeed a subscription, please update the title and clearly state and offer refund to all that have been misled.
March 20th, 2013 at 5:32 am
Please read my second comment. The promo has been switched to a non-subscription version and we provide updated licenses to yesterday’s customers by request.
March 20th, 2013 at 5:35 am
Appsforlife commented that “free updates period is still limited” What are the terms of the limitation? I have purchased a lot from MacZOT but am surprised and concerned that the initial “subscription” had been missed by MacZOT and NOT clarified elsewhere than comments section, which I just happened to read today.
March 20th, 2013 at 5:40 am
The promotion started yesterday as a one-year subscription. Today it was switched to unlimited version with one year of free updates (which is quite common for software). The title reflects the current promotion details to make the things easier. Please contact support@boxshot.com to get updated license, if you purchased yesterday.

OK! Now its fine. Thanks, Mike, for your reaction and thanks to appsforlife for changing this in a lifetime subscription.
Thanks to the community as well. Together we ARE powerful!
March 20th, 2013 at 6:17 am
So I just purchased and registered.
Yet, it says support ends 20.3.2014. Is this correct?
March 20th, 2013 at 6:35 am
This means you get all the updates that will be released before this date for free.
March 20th, 2013 at 8:38 am
Thanks for changing the terms. I snagged my copy.
Works as advertised, once I remembered to start at frame 0 rather than frame 1. (Which is actually not all that clear in the manual.)
