I’m the developer of Sparkbox. I started with Mac applications in the year 2007. Before I started Mac developing, I was a Flash developer and worked in the Windows environment. A computer geek at the time, I upgraded my PC once a season, and switched to new mobiles regularly. Then I got my first Mac. I loved it. 1 What’s the most unique, useful feature of your product
You can easily capture any image on a website, or the entire site if you like, and catalog them easily future reference. (WebSnap Tool Included)

2 Why did you create this app? or What need were you trying to satisfy?
Initially, the idea came from our customers of iDocument. They aksed for an image management app to organize their image collections. They didn’t want to mix their photos with web images, like icons, wallpapers,etc. SparkBOx solved the problem.

3.What’s the most interesting to you about developing SW for the Mac and/or iOS platforms.
Macs are cool. More thoughtful than any other platform for both developers and customers in our opinion. The Mac made creating SparkBox possible.


4 What features should a prospective buyer look into during a trial of your product?
– A. The web snap feature, Capture an entire webpage or specific images.
– B. Color search: Search your images by colors
– C. Sort your images by Tags
– D. Add comments right on your images

5 What features would you like to add to your product that at this time seem improbable/impossible?
To make spark box server based – we need more geeks to work this out. It’s not happening at the moment.

My favorite Mac app is Code, however, it is also my least favorite! :)

What image formats does Sparkbox support?
We support most common formats in the market at the moment, like PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF. We’ll consider supporting more formats in the future.


Will Sparkbox support index import model(Not to copy images into its library but only index them)?
Yes, we’ll do that soon in a upgrade.

Will Sparkbox be available in iOS as well?
Yes.

Will Sparkbox consider cloud service in the future?

I was born in Germany and studied Mathematics and Computer Science. I started my career as game programmer – Then I worked for big automobile manufacturers for 8 years. In 2007, I foundedKedisoft
(before the first iPhone :) I never looked back and haven’t owned a PC or Windows machine since then :) I love my job. This is how I was able to write 3 books while busy with my work.

1 What’s the most unique, useful feature of your product?
Many applications can annotate screenshots with arrows and texts but in most use cases users need to go further and explain the annotated screenshots. MacSnapper is unique in its handling of annotations and building content and howtos in HTML and PDF format.
- It is easy to arrange steps to lessons by only drag’n drop.

2 Why did you create this app? or What need were you trying to satisfy?
First I created the app for myself. I had to type howtos and long and boring text instructions to answer user questions. Making videos is cool but does not fit in the email concept. But snapping 3-5 screenshots and describing in very short sentences what to do and putting this together in an email, blog, or as a PDF files was amazingly easy, fast and exactly what users were expecting as an answer. The best part was that we could archive the howtos in MacSnapper and reuse them whenever we wanted!
This is the story how MacSnapper was born. As we realized that we are only one of thousands who need the same piece of software. We decided to create a product and share it with the world.

3 What is most interesting to you about developing SW for the Mac and/or iOS platforms.
Apple defines standards with their Cocoa Frameworks. It is interesting to see how mac applications work together. You feel like a part of a big community if you respect these standards. Mac users can notice the difference between a real mac citizen app and a ‘stranger’ app the first time they start it.
This is why we love mac users and are always excited about their feedbacks. I guess this feeling is special to all mac developers.

4 What features should a prospective buyer look into during a trial of your product?
You can rearrange your lessons and steps using the left source tree. This is very cool. You will have an overview of your archive.
MacSnapper is document based. So there is no central database. It is up to you how many files you want to create and where you want to store them. iCloud storage and Dropbox are two great candidates. Exporting HTML is a nice feature. If you have a WordPress blog, you can submit content to your blog in seconds. There is no limitation in the Trial version. The only difference is the water mark “Made with MacSnapper” on images.

5 What are some interesting experiences you’ve had creating new versions of your software when OS is upgraded?
There was a big change in some API functions between Tiger and Leopard. I spent an entire night to fix a problem in Invoice 3 when Leopard was published for the first time.

6 What’s your favorite Mac app out there from another developer? Why?
I love any productivity tool for mac. I can say that I am an addictive Mac SW buyer myself :)

7 What features would you like to add to your product that at this time seem improbable/impossible?
More export functions and easy CSS customizations for templates.

8 What’s your upgrade policy?
The hardest thing for us is to ask for money. We’ve never charged upgrade fees for Invoice 1/2 and 3 users. Invoice 1 users can still register Invoice 3 without any upgrade fee. The same thing with Totals, our most recent upgrade. Totals 1 users can use Totals 2 without upgrade fees. I will not promise anything for MacSnapper 2, but we’ve never charged for upgrades :) Minor upgrades are, of course, always free.
