OverviewOptimism is a mood charting application for helping you understand and improve your mental health. It is used by people recovering from depression, bipolar and other illnesses, for managing stress, and as a general self-help tool. By monitoring your day to day life it helps you work out the negative influences that you need to avoid, early warning signs that your health is deteriorating, and the inputs or activities that benefit you most. Optimism helps you recognize patterns in your life. By taking a couple of minutes each day to update the app you can quickly build a picture of what is affecting your mental health, positive and negative. All fields can be changed, making it very specific to your own circumstances. Your records can be viewed in reports and charts by date range. These allow you to observe changes in your health over time, detect the causes, and observe the benefits of different health strategies. When the time comes to meet with your doctor or mental health provider, you can print out your records and take them with you. Your doctor will appreciate the extra insight that Optimism provides! A free iPhone app is available, to provide a convenient method of data entry and later syncing with the software.
User Feedback:
This software is invaluable for understanding the factors that can help my depression and lead to a healthier lifestyle. Two thumbs up and 5 stars! Optimism has been the program I’ve been searching for for years. It’s clean uncluttered interface, customisability and combination of both charts and written reports are exactly the tools I need as a bipolar sufferer to map my moods and accurately record my mental states over time. I’d recommend it to any sufferer of a mood disorder who seeks another tool to help themselves and their healthcare providers better understand the evolution of their illness over time. This is one of the best programs I have ever used. I suffer from a mental Illness and this gives me a look at how I react on different days… thank you very much for creating something that is so useful for me and my condition. FAQs:What is the difference between the software and the web app (see the additional offer page)?
The web and desktop versions are functionally the same, and we are developing them to be very similar going forward. There is an advantage with the web app in that you can access it from any computer whereas with the desktop version you are restricted to one computer or otherwise need to synchronize between computers (e.g. desktop and laptop). If you decide to use the iPhone/iPod app then there is an extra step for synching the iPhone to the software because the data needs to be downloaded from the online database. Nothing extra needs to be done for the web app. What is your upgrade policy? Can I run the software on more than one computer? What are your current development plans? Try, Buy, and/or Learn more about the Web App here… System Requirements: Mac OSX 10.2 – 10.6, PPC and Intel. |

Computer-related health problems ranging from eyestrain, headaches, neck and backache to more serious Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI), including carpal tunnel syndrome, writer’s cramp, tendonitis, etc. are the result of inappropriate computer use.
