What it is…

Bracketeer is a front-end GUI for Enfuse. Enfuse is a command-line freeware utility which uses multiple exposures of a scene (bracketed exposures) and merges them together to form a uniformly lit scene. It is similar to tonemapping with an HDR image except that no HDR image is ever created, and there is no ghosting. It works with any kind of bracketed image set, not just panoramic equirectangular images. Bracketeer can even auto-align hand-held shots! The results are almost always much better than anything that can be achieved with Photoshop’s HDR Tone Mapping.

Bracketeer and PanoPreviewer use the same serial #. So, when you buy Bracketeer you also get a free copy of PanoPreviewer and vice versa.

Even with Spotlight and the like it is easy to loose overview of all the documents you need for a project or a client – out of sight out of mind.

1 What’s the most unique, useful feature of your product?

I think the single most useful feature of ProfCast is how easy it is to use. We designed ProfCast to be simple so that user’s can focus on giving a great presentation, which is the whole idea.

2 Why did you create this app? or What need were you trying to satisfy?

We created ProfCast because we saw a lot of people working very hard to record their presentations and we wanted to make that easy.

3 What is most interesting to you about developing SW for the Mac platform.

I think the most interesting thing is working in the developer community. There are a lot of very smart, innovative and generous programmers in the Mac development community. Their willingness to share ideas, and help one another is really excellent.

4 What features should a prospective buyer look into during a trial of your product?

I think prospective buyers should run through the process of recording a presentation and creating a .m4a file.

5 What are some interesting experiences you’ve had creating new versions of your software when OS is upgraded?

Well, Apple tends to be a little secretive when it comes to unreleased software. ProfCast works with Keynote and Powerpoint, and so when Apple releases a new version of Keynote, we have to verify that the update doesn’t require an update to ProfCast to keep working. Fortunately, Apple has started distributing iWork as a download so we can get the new versions when they are released. (We have had to wait up to a week for the disks to make it into the store.)

6 What’s your favorite Mac app out there from another developer? Why?

I really like “TextMate” from macromates.com . I use it all the time for web development. It is a elegant, efficient solution. It works great!

7 What features would you like to add to your product that at this time seem improbable/impossible?

Well, nothing is impossible right? Stay tuned.

8 What would you like a user to ask you?

Anything they would like to know. I answer all emails.

9 What should I ask that I’m forgetting?

I have no idea.

10 What’s new in Profcast?

We added support for publishing directly to a Podcast Producer setup.

11 What’s a specific instance of how Profcast has evolved to meet the needs of users lately?
