What is DataLore?

Innovative “Search-As-You-Type” Technology
Search as fast as you can type! Perform simple and complex searches all via a text entry box. Simply start typing in the Search Text Box and DataLore will start searching right away. No need to press start or stop, or click on multiple drop down menus. DataLore will start searching with you, will stop with you, and will change with you, responding immediately to your every move. This unique text entry method for making quick searches, from simple to complex, works with you while you type, without any interruption. When you want to change or adjust your search criteria, simply change the text and DataLore will follow your lead, moving with you full steam ahead. Powerful Text Shorthand & Special Characters
The simple search text box can perform powerful searches using a type of “shorthand” that makes it easy to do simple or complex searches, with special characters to define the search. Perform simple searches with words separated by spaces or perform more complex searches using Boolean and Wildcard queries, date ranges, file types, and much more. Combine special search characters to produce more complex search patterns. The text shorthand options make custom or more complex search queries, fast and easy!
Include and Exclude Folders
If you have a rough idea of where your file is, or where it definitely is not located, you can narrow down the results so fast, by selecting folders to include and exclude from your search. And it’s just that simple!
All-in-One Search Solution
DataLore offers you a main application along with a companion menu bar application that acts as a mini-server for granting access to other computers on your network. Use the main application to perform all of your searches – choose where to search, what to search for, and what file types to look for. View the results immediately. Select which folders to search and which ones to exclude, and narrow down your search by excluding specific file types from the search results.
Use the handy menu bar app to control who can search your computer, what folders they can and cannot search, or to grant certain computers no access at all. You can restrict access to specific folders and exclude folders from being accessed. You can turn remote access off instantly whenever you want. This companion mini-server lives in your menu bar so that you can launch a new search at anytime without having to open the main application first.
DataLore’s network searching makes it so much more convenient and faster than using the Finder, or using a thumb drive, or other alternative methods. System Requirements:
• Mac® OS X 10.5 and 10.6 or later (Leopard & Snow Leopard)
• Intel-based Mac (PPC users, please see note below)
• Spotlight indexing must be enabled
• To search networked computers, DataLore must be installed on all computers with remote access turned on.
• 1 serial number can be installed on up to 5 computers.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON PPC SUPPORT: DataLore is also available for PowerPC Macs, but only supports OS X 10.5. If you are using a PowerPC Mac, then a serial number is not required. DataLore is free for PowerPC users, simply download and enjoy. However, support for PowerPC Macs is limited, and at anytime product development for the PowerPC may be discontinued.
For intel Macs, a serial number is required to activate the product permanently. A serial number can be used on up to 5 intel Mac computers. DataLore installed on a PPC can search an Intel Mac with DataLore installed (and vise versa).
